the roof top terrace café at the Technische Universität München
It’s been over a year since I graduated from my Masters at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). One year of oh so grown up and smart and yet being on the job hunt again. What better way celebrate that then with a class reunion at university…?
Sounds solala? Well, lucky us: we have a university café that’s actually pretty neat. And by neat I mean slightly overpriced with a delicious weekend brunch buffet and phenomenal views of München and the Alpen.
When we first started talking about the reunion I remember saying „Yeah right, because mid october we’ll want to sit outside…“ Little did I know we’d wouldn’t just be sitting outside but almost get our cheeks rosy not by the cold but the stinging sun.
The Vorhoelzer is a pretty great place to take visitors from our of town to. I used to go there all the time because my work was literally right next door. We’d order the daily lunch and then retreat to our „private“ part of the roof top terrace right in front of our offices. Without that luxury of your own seating section, coming by enough seats for a larger group can be tricky on sunny days. Avoid lunch times unless you enjoy standing in line for 15 minutes surrounded by fashionable architecture students behaving like they own the place – which they somewhat do.
